ABOUT US
Partnering for Rural Health e.V. is a non-governmental organisation driven by a single goal: to contribute to a world with access to affordable healthcare for all. We strive to be a sustainable partner in improving access to affordable healthcare in rural areas of our world. We partner for change and dedicate our time and resources to enable our local partners to fill the rural healthcare gap in their communities. Together with our partners, we work towards leaving no one behind and contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

OUR APPROACH: SUPPORTING ACCESS TO RURAL HEALTHCARE
Healthcare is the key to a good, happy and healthy life. Yet, half the global population lacks access to essential health services. And especially the rural population is often cut off from essential health care services due to long distances, lacking infrastructure, extreme weather events and other adverse impacts of climate change.
Access to affordable and high-quality health is not just about better health outcomes but it is a human right, which is fundamental part of our understanding of a life in dignity. Ill health is a major cause of poverty and can keep us from going to school or to work, from attending to our family responsibilities or from participating fully in the activities of our community.

With our association, we contribute to addressing this urgent need. In our partner countries we help to expand healthcare services for rural communities and to further develop capacities.

PARTNERSHIPS ARE KEY
Local doctors know their community and their healthcare needs best. That is why we are partnering with doctors and health practitioners in rural areas where health care is needed. We build clinics and pharmacies, provide information in local languages and raise awareness about the importance of healthcare in rural areas. At the same time we pursue our goal of long term financial stability for our projects by supporting our partners on the road to become financially independent.
